Yes, this time it’s no foolie. It’s running on it’s own.

The new injectors and trigger points came in yesterday, and I wanted to get them installed asap. I decided to reinstall the finished rear caliper and pull the right front and do a hone job on it. Unfortunately 80 psi of air would not budge the inner piston. I’ll have to do a rebuild on the left rear up to the point of bleeding, then jack the inner right front piston out with the hydraulics. Then go through another front after that.

So, while I had the right side jacked up, I went ahead and replaced the last section of low pressure fuel hose that’s under that side of the car. Dropped the car back on rubber and started replacing the injectors. They look really good, when you can catch a glimpse. Once I got all of them swapped out I put the battery back in. A couple of switch ons got the air purged in the fuel lines and I decided to try firing it up.

I could tell it wanted to run. It was trying at first, but eventually caught and I got it to run up around 2k, but rough with a dieing idle. I finally got it to run on it’s own at a slightly rough idle and let it heat up a bit and get the new oil all up in tha bizness. Then I dumped the oil and put in some engine maintenance fluid along with some good quality Penzoil 10W-30. What came out was much darker than when it went in, but it was still transparent. Now it’s starting to idle pretty good, though I think it needs to be timed proper. I got a timing gun this afternoon, and I’ll probably tune it up tomorrow before I pull the rear brake.

I’m hoping that by Sunday I’ll have the brakes at least on the car, though maybe not painted, and with any luck be able to try freeing the clutch. That would be awesome. It was so cool to sit in it and feel it firing up, and the sound. I’ll try to get some video tomorrow and post it to my YouTube page. I know it’ll be street ready in a week or so now.
