Well, today was kind of eventful.  Got an email that pissed me off greatly (I’m still composing the reply).  Did a system migration for my Mom, and in the process found two rouge stations on my folks net.  To say the least, I was suprised and quite pissed at the same time.  Ended up reconfiguring their net, and amping up the encryption level.  Got rid of the rouges.

On another note, I really love my new Sony UX-180P ultra mobile computer.  There are a number of good reviews of this UMC, and in my opinion they were very helpful in my decision to purchase one.  I chose the 180 over the 280 due to price vs features between the two.  After stripping out the useless-ware, the performance picked right up.  To tell the truth, one review stated that this (180) would be most useful to IT staff.  Well, they were right.  I’m able to connect to the corporate LAN via VPN, and then remote admin all of the servers from nearly anywhere.  The bluetooth is also very handy.  I got a BT GPS receiver and already had a Plantronics BT headset for my Treo.  Took a couple of minutes to get both online, but both are working together nicely.  It’s really nice when travelling.  The preinstalled MS S&T 2006 supports the GPS and I can pipe Windows audio out of the Plantronics earpiece.  Very Trek.  The biometric reader is pretty cool too.  I “enrolled” all of my prints, and loging into Windows is only a swipe away.  And it’s cool.  By cool I mean, it doesn’t get warm or anywhere near hot, ever.  It’s badass.

At any rate, I’m not going to write another review, I just wanted to say that it was worth it.  Also, I wanted to give a shout out to a buddy of mine: Yo Christian!!!
